I received my autographed copy of Kaffe Fassett’s new book Heritage Quilts and I am fascinated and thoroughly enjoying the pictures and the readings. As I turn the pages and see the bright array of colors I can feel myself getting happy and excited. It is a strange feeling I have never felt before by just looking at pictures. Now that’s powerful stuff!! In the gallery of quilts there are 15 historic quilts spanning three centuries! Each historic quilt has the dates of origination as well as interesting information about each quilt. Kaffe Fasset takes those quilts and interprets them in a contemporary fashion by using his wonderful fabric collection giving the quilts a whole new life! It truly is amazing the transformation each quilt takes yet the original beauty is still captured. He also includes patterns for each quilt!
